- Built in 1763 in Covrigi village, Văgiulești Commune (near Motru, Gorj County), commissioned by Stancu, Udrea, and Constantin Șchiopu, together with Nedelcu Ștubalcă. 1808–1809 renovation, including fresco painting in the nave by the artist Constantin Lungu. 1840: A larger brick church was built immediately west of the wooden one. As a result, the wooden church was decommissioned and repurposed as a storage facility. 1852 repairs included enlarging windows and restoring the porch. 2008–2009 relocation: The wooden church was carefully dismantled in Covrigi, restored, reinforced, and moved to the courtyard of the Theological High School in Târgu Jiu. November 4, 2009: Final handover was completed, confirmed by signed documentation. September 14, 2010: The newly relocated Church of St. Nicholas was consecrated by His Eminence Dr. Irineu, Archbishop of Craiova and Metropolitan of Oltenia, together with a group of priests.
