In 2014, in the village of Seredinovka, on the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Life-Giving Cross of the Lord, with the blessing of His Eminence, the Most Reverend Theodosius, Metropolitan of Tambov and Rasskazovsky, a memorial sign and Poklonny Cross was consecrated on the site of the former Pokrovsky Church, a cultural monument, the remains of which were destroyed by fire in the early 21st century. The Memorial Cross and the memorial sign were installed through the efforts and at the expense of the patrons - the inhabitants of the village. The memorial sign was consecrated by the rector of the Intercession Church of the village of Verkhocenye, Priest Nikita Khakhin, and the rector of the John the Baptist Church in the village of Ivanovka, Priest Maxim Moshkin, concelebrated with him. On December 3, 2014, Dean Archpriest Georgy Zolotov consecrated the dome of the temple under construction. The temple is being built on the site of a former store on the initiative and under the care of Pavel Sergeevich Spiridonov, General Director of Seredinovskoye LLC. The place for the temple was not chosen by chance - on the contrary, a memorial Cross was installed on the site of the destroyed temple, and in the base of the store in the 60s of the last century, according to local legend, the builders walled up a cross that fell from the dome of the destroyed Pokrovsky Church. On January 7, 2016, on the feast of the Nativity of Christ, Priest Nikita Khakhin consecrated the bells for the new church, cast by order and at the expense of P.S. Spiridonov, General Director of Seredinovskoye LLC. On December 4, 2016, on the feast of the Entry into the Church of the Most Holy Theotokos, His Eminence His Eminence Theodosius, Metropolitan of Tambov and Rasskazovsky, consecrated a new church in honor of the Protection of the Most Holy Theotokos and celebrated Divine Liturgy. The temple was consecrated with a small rank. General Director of LLC "Seredinovskoe" P.S. Spiridonov, the initiator and chief trustee of the construction of the temple, Vladyka Theodosius presented the Bishop's letter. First Deputy Chairman of the Regional Duma V.N. Karev presented to the temple a copy of the Iverskaya icon of the Mother of God, consecrated in the monastery on Mount Athos.
