On September 25, 2002, a parish meeting was held in the Khokhryakovsky House of Culture, at which the parishioners considered the issue of creating an Orthodox Parish, chose the top ten of the church, and adopted the Charter of the Parish. At the same time, it was decided to name the Orthodox parish in honor of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia in the village of Khokhryaki, Zavyalovsky District of the Udmurt Republic. the entrance to the village. At the chosen place on September 30, 2002, after the Feast of the Exaltation of the Cross of the Lord, the Cross was installed and a plate with the inscription: "A church in honor of the New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia will be erected on this place." On January 17, 2003, the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation issued a certificate of state registration of a religious organization. Thus, the Parish of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia in the village of Khokhryaki was legally registered. Unfortunately, there is still no temple at the site of the installation of the Cross, but, to the great joy of many residents of the village of Khokhryaki, a temple in the village has nevertheless appeared. And a temple appeared at the Khokhryakovsky cemetery. The history of the construction of the temple is as follows: In June 2003, Elena Stanislavovna Chuguevskaya (at that time the chief artist of Izhevsk) approached the Diocese with a request to establish a memorial chapel at the Khokhryakovsky cemetery next to the grave of her relative Vasily Sergeevich Chuguevsky, the former director of a mechanical plant, who died on September 16, 2002. The ruling archbishop Nikolai gave his blessing to arrange the chapel of the Khokhryakovsky parish, since the cemetery belongs to the Khokhryakovsky rural administration. In 2005, Khoroshavtsev V.G., a deputy of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, responded to the request of Chuguevskaya E.S. and began the construction of a temple at the Khokhryakovsky cemetery in honor of St. Basil the Great, Archbishop of Caesarea of ​​Cappadocia, patron saint V.S. Chuguevsky. On September 16, 2006, on the territory of the Khokhryakovsky cemetery, the opening of a new majestic church in honor of Basil the Great took place, a small consecration of the temple was performed. On October 25, 2009, the ruling bishop, Metropolitan of Izhevsk and Udmurt, performed a great consecration of the temple. On October 8, 2008, with the blessing of the ruling bishop, Metropolitan of Izhevsk and Udmurt, the Parish of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia in the village of Khokhryaki was renamed the Parish of the Church of St. Basil the Great in the village of Khokhryaki.
