- Origins & Foundation Construction (2013–2015): The St Tabitha Children’s Home & Safe Home was built between 2013 and 2015 next to the Holy Trinity Church in Saweni, Lautoka. Official Opening & Ministry Collaboration (2015): The orphanage was formally opened in 2015, operating in cooperation with Fiji’s Ministry of Social Welfare. Early Capacity & Purpose At its inception, the facility provided care and shelter to a small group of children—eight boys and six girls—from nearby areas like Sabeto and Saweni. Temporary Safe Home provisions also served mothers and children in urgent need. Child Care Statistics: Over a period of ten years following its establishment, the home looked after more than 80 children. Currently, it houses around 15 children and young adults in a well-equipped facility.
