- started in 625 A.D and present church is the 3rd construction at the present place. first church was in the name of St.Thomas , the Apostle of India. Tomb of Marthoma IV, the successor of St.Thomas & Tomb of Sacralla Mar Baselios situated in the right and left corners of the (Madhbaho)Altar . Holy relics of St. George is also kept here.
