The Lyreio Children?s Institution, founded in 1967 by several dedicated nuns imbued with maternal affection and christian love, without neglecting the duties and obligations of their monastic life, has the mission to care for, foster and educate children who face a life of little opportunity.
The Institution functions as an ideal \"Orthodox Village\", providing care for both boys and girls from infancy to adulthood, raising them in a warm family environment which enables these children to grow into and live as productive and fulfilled adults in modern society.
