- St. Athanasius Cathedral in Puthencuriz is the first church consecrated in the name of the Saint Athanasius Paulose of Aluva (Valiya Thirumeni, d.1953), the former Malankara Metropolitan and the head of the Malankara Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church. The Cathedral is part of the Church headquarters complex of the Malankara Jacobite Syrian Orthodox Church. It's the burial place of the late Catholicos Baselios Thomas I. The cathedral was the location for the installation of Catholicos Aboon Mor Baselios Joseph .
