- The historical Greek Orthodox Church of Saint George was damaged by the devastating 7.7 magnitude earthquake that occurred in the Kahramanmaraş region on February 6, 2023. A big part of the building's walls and top, as well as the dome, collapsed, causing significant damage on the inside and the outside of the building. The Iconostasis was struck by the debris while serious cracks formed in the rest of the building.
