- In 1898, a stone church was built in Sampur at the expense of parishioners in the name of the patron saint of Russian soldiers - the Holy Great Martyr George the Victorious. In its place today there is a monument to V.I. Lenin. In Soviet times, the church of the Holy Great Martyr and Victorious George was destroyed, building materials were used to build the club, which subsequently burned down. According to numerous appeals of parishioners, a whole century later, in 1999, a house church was opened in Sampur in the building of the former Central District Hospital. The church was consecrated by the Dean Archpriest, at that time the rector of the John the Baptist Church, Georgy Zolotov, who at first served in this church. The beautiful altar iconostasis, ordered in Sofrino, as well as a number of icons, was presented to the temple by the chairman of the regional Duma Vladimir Nikolaevich Karev. Since 2000, priest Vyacheslav Evgenievich Vyzhanov, assistant dean for social work, has been the rector of the church.
