- The Russian Orthodox mission in Davao grew from pastoral visits and outreach into a permanent local community in the 2010s. The parish of the Blessed Matrona of Moscow has hosted hierarchical services, catechesis, baptisms and social projects; it also functions as the Davao deanery center for the Philippines–Vietnam Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church. The diocesan leadership has worked with local authorities to expand mission activity in Mindanao and to secure land for further church development.
