- Construction of the first Russian-style Orthodox church on Panglao Island, Bohol began in 2024 under the Philippines-Vietnam Diocese of the Russian Orthodox Church. The church is dedicated to the icon of the Mother of God “She Who Is Quick to Hear.” By late 2024, the concrete foundation and first level were completed, and work on the walls had begun. This project represents the first Orthodox church of traditional Russian architecture in the Visayas region. The diocesan plan is for services to begin once the building is sufficiently completed for worship, marking a significant expansion of the Russian Orthodox presence in central Philippines.
