Historical Details

History:
In 1825 Russian Czar Alexander I made the decision to found and construct a military church in Finland, in Tornio. The present little church building is from 1884 and it is dedicated to the apostles Peter and Paul. It is part of the orthodox parish of Oulu. The church is situated in the centre of Tornio near the Swedish border. Open in summer.
