- History:
- The Monastery was Founded in 1994 as the Hermitage of St Anthony and St Cuthbert by Brother Aidan (Hart). Rdr Aidan converted the original farmhouse, built cells, and painted the iconography of the monastic chapel as well as envisioning the ecological and liturgically centred life of the monastery. In 2001 Monk Silouan continued the stewardship of the Hermitage and its ecology until 2017. In 2018 it was re-founded as a coenobitic monastery by the Brotherhood of the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul under Abbot Archimandrite Philip, retaining the name, the Holy Monastery of St Anthony and St Cuthbert.
